Is your Citrine natural or heat-treated?
At Brazil Gems®, we clearly identify our Citrine so you know exactly what you're purchasing.
Most of the Citrine available on today's market, including much of the material mined in Brazil, is created by heating natural Amethyst. This process brings out the beautiful golden-yellow to amber colors that customers associate with Citrine.
Heat treatment does not make the crystal fake. It remains a genuine quartz crystal formed by nature, with only its color altered through heat. Whenever applicable, we disclose whether a piece is natural Citrine or heat-treated Citrine in the product description.

How do I clean my citrine cathedral?
Cleaning a Citrine geode is relatively simple. They like water but you don't need to clean it with water often. The goal is to remove dust and grime while preserving the natural luster.
For regular dusting (Recommended):
- Use a soft paintbrush or makeup brush to gently remove dust between the crystal points.
- Compressed air (used lightly) also works well for hard-to-reach areas.
- Finish with a microfiber cloth on the polished edges or base.
For a deeper cleaning:
- Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water.
- Add a few drops of mild dish soap.
- Gently scrub the crystals using a soft toothbrush or soft detailing brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water. We suggest a spay bottle with clean water.
- Allow the geode to air dry completely, or use a microfiber towel to remove excess water.
How often to clean?
If the piece is in a home, every 2-3 months is usually enough.
In a high traffic area, perhaps dusting once a month will keep the crystals sparkling.
