Amethyst Cathedral Geodes are sometimes also known as Amethyst Caves or Amethyst Chapels, these geodes are cut in half and opened up for our enjoyment. They are considered "Cathedrals" because of their usually tall and pointy shapes reminiscent of a Cathedral. We offer our Cathedrals in 3 different Product Types:

• Classic Cathedrals: Painted Black on its sides & back
• Open 2-Sided Cathedrals: Similar to the classic but open to be enjoyed from the front or back
• Polished Cathedrals: Fully polished outer shell with some material at the bottom to make it flat

Cleaning an Amethyst geode is relatively simple. They like water but you don't need to clean it with water often. The goal is to remove dust and grime while preserving the natural luster.

For regular dusting (Recommended):

• Use a soft paintbrush or makeup brush to gently remove dust between the crystal points.
• Compressed air (used lightly) also works well for hard-to-reach areas.
• Finish with a microfiber cloth on the polished edges or base.
  

For a deeper cleaning:

1. Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water.
2. Add a few drops of mild dish soap.
3. Gently scrub the crystals using a soft toothbrush or soft detailing brush.
4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. We suggest a spay bottle with clean water.
5. Allow the geode to air dry completely, or use a microfiber towel to remove excess water.

How often to clean?

If the piece is in a home, every 2-3 months is usually enough.

In a high traffic area, perhaps dusting once a month will keep the crystals sparkling.
